Dying Paper
O paper! you fair and flaunt ageing,
Retiring young at less than years thousand,
People before us witnessed thy glory
You embodiment of truth everywhere command
Children despise you, system relies on you.
Your spent time with pen left marks on you
Like a beloved’s memories written on lover’s heart
We play matchmaker and your married life witness
Pity, both of you together will vanish slowly
For glimmering screens have superseded you,
Your whiteness true, intentions focused
Those screens hold plan insidious, distracting eyes
My grandchildren might be late for your demise:
“there was a screen once that can’t be shut.”
Retiring young at less than years thousand,

Children despise you, system relies on you.
